How it Works
Phase 5 polish is the professional’s choice for removing heavy scratches and swirls from fiberglass, hard paint, and durable gel coat finishes. Fiberglass and gelcoat are typically reserved for vehicles that take the toughest beatings, like off road ATVs, quad bikes, RVs, campers, and trailers. The tough materials resist scratches, abrasion, and harsh UV sunlight that would destroy softer paintwork and plastics. When fiberglass does get scratched, swirled, and faded from UV solar rays, it needs a tough Compound to remove swirls and marks that mar the finish. The specialty polish is formulated with diminishing abrasive technology to combine multiple polishing steps into one polishing pass. Not everyone has the time or money for a 3-stage polishing job. Offroad vehicles with heavy swirls, scratches, and oxidation may require heavy Compounding to remove deep defects and damage from fiberglass and gel coat finishes. How To Use:
Application by Hand:
Mist desired pad to be used with Chemical Guys polishing Pad Conditioner moisten the foam and reduce friction.
Apply a nickel size amount of Phase 5 polish to the applicator.
It is always recommended to apply polish out of direct sunlight.
Work polish in a back and forth, work in 2 x 2 sq. foot sections until the entire surface is done.

Note: General Hand application of Phase 5 polish by hand will remove light oxidation and minor imperfections while enhancing gloss. Doing the work by hand will not deliver the same superior results achievable with a PC or Rotary. For paint correction, it is always recommended to use a polisher.

Application by Machine:
Mist desired pad to be used with Chemical Guys polishing Pad Conditioner to moisten the foam and reduce friction.
Apply a nickel size amount of Phase-5 polish to the applicator.
Always make sure the surface to be Compounded is clean and dry.
If surface is freshly or recently painted, always allow time to properly cure.
It is always recommended to apply polish out of direct sunlight.
Though product will work great even in the sun, maximum work time is achieved out of direct sunlight.
For light jobs use Lake Country CCS pads orange or green.
For large boats and RVs or larger more oxidized surfaces use a wool or foam polishing pad.
Apply a 4-6 inch line of polish to the surface.
With the polisher turned off, spread the polish over about a 2 x 2 sq. ft. area.
polish at 1200-1800 RPM on rotary polisher or 5000-6000 OPM for Dual-Action polisher.
Work area slowly across and then up and down the area.
Always double check your work after several passes to assure proper results.
Wipe surface area with a lightly damp microfiber towel.
Always apply a wax or sealant after Compounding or polishing.
Chemical Guys recommends Jet Seal for maximum protection, durability and wet mirror shine.
